Holsworthy Good Neighbours Day Centre
The Day Centre provide day care in the Manor
Suite of the Memorial Hall for the
elderly in Holsworthy and surrounding parishes.
They are open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays offering lunch,
activities, trips, library, entertainment, talks and
demonstrations.
If you feel that yourself, or a relation could benefit from these services and you would like to attend the day centre or you require more information, do not hesitate to contact the Day Centre. You can ring Anne or Crispin on 01409 254677.
We understand that it
is possible to attend the Day Centre, either as a change / company for yourself
or to give your carer a break, you can also ring Social Services
or ask your neighbour, friend or Doctor etc to do it for you.
Whichever way the referral comes,we understand that it is Social Services
who have the last say as to whether you can attend. We understand that age
limits are usually 65 and over, but every referral is considered on need and
they have several younger clients.
This is
an active Day Centre, believing that age or disability should not be a barrier
or prevent you from leading a 'normal' life. The Day Centre has no TV or books.
knitting is discouraged, as it is believe you have the rest of the week to
do that at home!!

The Day Centre is a registered charity,Charity number 100687.We understand that they are also part funded by Devon County Council Social Services.

In house they provide .. Chiropodist, Library Books to borrow, visits from District Nurses / Doctors, Holy Communion, private room for consultations with CAB etc as well as escorted shopping around Holsworthy, many activities, outings etc.
